Jahrhundert &#8211; und das auf einer Gesamtl\u00e4nge von sechseinhalb Kilometern. Die Wegef\u00fchrung erlaubt sch\u00f6ne Ausblicke auf Simmershausen, das Fuldatal, Rothwesten und den Espenauer Ortsteil Hohenkirchen. Start ist der Parkplatz am Haus der Begegnung, in dem u. a. das Heimatmuseum untergebracht ist.<\/p>\n<p>Die Kirche im Ortskern zeigt eine bewegte Baugeschichte auf, die historische Schmiede ist neben dem Zeugnis vergangenen Schmiedehandwerks auch ein Beispiel heutigen ehrenamtlichen Engagements: Der Arbeitskreis Heimatmuseum hat die Schmiede saniert und zu einem neuen Treffpunkt im Dorf umgebaut. Der Helleweg ist eine der vielen heute meist unbekannten mittelalterlichen Verbindungsstra\u00dfen, welche die Region Kassel mit dem &#8222;Rest der Welt&#8220; verbanden.
