Mit weiten Blicken in den Solling, auf die Weser und durch das malerische Schw\u00fclmetal bietet der Weg zus\u00e4tzlich Einblicke in die spannende Geschichte der Region.<br \/>\nStart in Lippoldsberg am Kloster<\/p>\n<p>Die Klostergr\u00fcndung ist die Keimzelle des Dorfes Lippoldsberg, dessen Name auf den Mainzer Erzbischof Luitpold zur\u00fcckgeht. Er erwarb das Land der heutigen Ortslage im Jahr 1059 vom Kloster Corvey. Im Jahr 1100 kam es zur Gr\u00fcndung eines Benediktinerinnenklosters, das bis 1569 bestand. Infolge der Reformation wurde der Klosterbesitz in ein hessisches Staatsgut umgewandelt.<br \/>\nDie Bl\u00fctezeit des Klosters war im 12. Jahrhundert. Um 1150 wurde die romanische Basilika in einem Zuge erbaut und seither kaum ver\u00e4ndert. Als guterhaltenes Beispiel f\u00fcr die Klosterkultur an der Weser ist die Kirche St. Georg und Maria heute ein Baudenkmal von nationaler Bedeutung.<br \/>\nStart in Vernawahlshausen am Parkplatz Schw\u00fclmetalhalle<\/p>\n<p>Vernawahlshausen wird 1233 in einem Streit um L\u00e4ndereien erstmals urkundlich erw\u00e4hnt, doch die Anf\u00e4nge gehen wahrscheinlich ins 8. oder 9. Jahrhundert zur\u00fcck. Die Namensendung &#8222;-hausen&#8220; deutet darauf hin. Das Dorf &#8222;Wahlshausen&#8220; war von Beginn an dem Einfluss verschiedener weltlicher und geistlicher Herren ausgesetzt.
