Der Fund des &#8222;Leichnams Christi&#8220; zog zun\u00e4chst nur Pilger aus der Umgebung an. Nachdem der Erzbischof von Mainz am 10. Juni 1331 Gottsb\u00fcren offiziell als Wallfahrtsort anerkannt hatte, str\u00f6mten auch viele Pilger aus den Gebieten des heutigen Europas hierher.
