Sie gab den Menschen Arbeit und lieferte f\u00fcr Industrie, Gewerbe und Haushalte das begehrte Brennmaterial. Die allgemeine Holzknappheit, verbunden mit zus\u00e4tzlichem Bedarf an Heizmaterial f\u00fcr die entstehenden Eisen- und Glash\u00fctten, regte den Kohlenabbau im 16.\/17. Jahrhundert an.
